Description of the Publication
| American Biotechnology Laboratory is a tabloid
publication distributed to subscribers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The subscribers are mainly bioanalytical chemists and life science research
scientists employed in laboratories serving the biotechnology community.
The editorial content provides complete coverage of the latest products
for the life science marketplace, together with concise articles covering
innovations in laboratory practice and applications of new instrumentation,
apparatus, and related products. Published 12 times a year.
Today’s greatest professional challenge is keeping up
to date. A subscription to American Biotechnology Laboratory (ABL) will
help keep you abreast of the latest developments in life science instrumentation
and apparatus, bioanalytical chemistry, kits, and biologicals. Progress
in the life sciences and life science research is proceeding at a truly
amazing rate, due in part to advances in the laboratory products that have
been developed specifically for the needs of the life scientist.
The editorial of Genomic/Proteomic Technology covers the
new technology that will advance drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, and

separation science, spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, laboratory

AD SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Digital data is required for all ad submissions. Preferred
format is PDF/X-1a. Acceptable formats are PDF and TIFF/IT P-1. Files should
be press optimized, converted to CMYK, and have all fonts embedded. Publisher
shall have no obligation or liability to Advertiser of any kind (including,
without limitation, the obligation to offer Advertiser makegoods or any
other form of compensation) if an ad is supplied to Publisher by Advertiser
in any format other than PDF/X-1a, PDF or TIFF/IT P-1. Each ad supplied
to Publisher by Advertiser in any format other than PDF/X-1a, PDF or TIFF/IT
P-1 will be charged a $150 processing fee. Publisher cannot provide Advertiser
any assurances regarding the accuracy of reproduction of any ads supplied
in any format other than PDF/X-1a, PDF or TIFF/IT P-1. For detailed instructions
of preferred formats, contact the production manager or download digital
ad specifications from www.advanstar.com/adspec/.
DISK SUBMISSION
Preferred file format is PDF. If not providing PDF/X-1a,
please check for CMYK color settings and resolution. Provide screen and
printer fonts.Use Type 1 fonts only.No TruType fonts.Remember
to include fonts embedded in graphic files.A PDF that is provided for
proofing purposes only must be marked as such in file
name:e.g.,Acme_proof.pdf.We will continue to accept Quark XPress files.
Resolution:
• 800 DPI for any line art
• 266 DPI for any screened art, continuous tones
• 300 DPI for color and grayscale images and any embedded
PostScript files
When placing crop marks in file, offset by 3/16”(5mm).
Preferred media are CD and Zip. Two color prints, output
at 100%, are requested.Prints must be output from file provided, as this
will
insure necessary files are on the disks.
2. Publisher will not supply a faxed or soft proof for
Advertiser-supplied files. Advertiser is solely responsible for preflighting
and proofing all advertisements prior to submission to Publisher. If Publisher
detects an error before going to press, Publisher will make a reasonable
effort to contact Advertiser to give Advertiser an opportunity to correct
and resubmit Advertiser’s file before publication.
3. Accepted Media: Files may be submitted on CD-ROM.
4. FTP: Files may be submitted to Publisher’s FTP site.
Please contact the production manager for instructions.
5. Ad Proofs: To insure that Advertiser’s ad is reproduced
correctly, a SWOP-certified color proof that has been made from the same
file that Advertiser supplies to Publisher must be provided. Publisher
cannot provide Advertiser any assurances regarding the accuracy of reproduction
of any ad submitted without a SWOP proof. Publisher shall have no obligation
or liability to Advertiser of any kind (including, without limitation,
the obligation to offer Advertiser makegoods or any other form of compensation)
for any ad supplied to Publisher by Advertiser without a SWOP proof. 6.
Film: Publisher is computer to plate. Each ad submitted to Publisher on
film will incur a $50 charge. |
