| Sourcing
and Compilation
The Business Database contains a variety
of segments or specialized lists, each with its own unique sourcing and
creation methodologies. While our compilation methods are private and proprietary,
the following are some of our primary sources used in the data collection,
aggregation, and compilation process. Our file features quarterly rebuilds
and the email channel is our key differentiator. We employ a team of dedicated
data management professionals based in India that focus on updating and
keeping our email addresses and phone numbers as current as possible. The
B2B Database contains over 800,000 job titles, which allows us to provide
custom lists, targeting job titles that are difficult to find.

Contact information is cross-referenced
with publicly available data by our research teams. We collect business
cards at conventions, conferences and shows and use phone confirmation,
web validation research, and a Permission Pass to add email addresses and
contact details to their records. In return for their permission, contacts
receive free subscriptions to online publications from our partners upon
opt-in and confirmation. We’ve been doing this since 2002, and continue
through today.
Detailed Description of Email Activity
Tracking
Email Campaign responses include opens,
clicks, bounces (hard and soft), opt outs, and replies. All responses are
tracked and mapped back to the master repository. Hard Bounces and Opt
out requests are scrubbed daily, and we provide weekly bounce/opt-out files
for our customers to use for suppression.
Validation, Verification,
and Quality Assurance
Using our Research Facility and Call Center
in India, we make millions of phone calls each year as part of the data
verification process.
In addition, we use both online and offline
publications and sources to look up and verify information, download publicly
available lists, and often perform custom research and list development
projects for clients. Further, where possible we match our data to other
prominent files to identify matches, unique records, unique businesses,
or mismatched information. The research team explores discrepancies in
the data and justifies the record.
Upon entrance into our database, if we
have an email address for the contact, a text based permission pass is
sent, with all opt outs and bounces scrubbed. The Permission Pass is left
'live' for 30 business days from the date of send and remain live before
opt outs and bounces are scrubbed. When sending client specific Permission
Passes, the email message is left ‘live’ for 10 business days before opt-outs
and bounces are scrubbed. We attempt to deliver soft bounces three times
before scrubbing them from the file. Hard bounces are made available to
clients according to their individual data processing schedules and needs.
All email addresses receive SMTP verification
quarterly to identify deliverable, active email addresses. We email approximately
10 million messages per month to our file on behalf of clients and company
newsletters at least twice per year, which also helps keep the file clean.
Bounces are scrubbed daily, and all opt out requests are processed within
24 hours.
We maintain all open and click history
on each email record in our master repository. The data team tracks and
records all opens and read receipts along with click/open history. A subset
of this team focuses on processing opt-out requests, scrubbing hard bounces
from campaigns, and managing ISP relations. All remove requests are processed
within 24 hours.
We receive bounces and opt-outs from our
clients and partners on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis as part of our
standard agreements, which we then research and suppress on our file.
All email addresses receive an SMTP verification
once per quarter which is a server to server ‘handshake’ that ensures that
the email address is still active. All contacts also receive an eNewsletter
from us once per quarter. The degree to which consent is addressed can
vary based on our data sources, but all have been vetted as having privacy
policies and clear notice that the contact is giving their permission to
receive third party marketing messages.
As an added step we send permission passes
to all records that enter our master repository, providing them the ability
to opt out. Additional permission passes are sent to contacts during email
append projects and prospect email campaigns on behalf our clients always
allow contacts to opt-out both at the ‘client level’ (our client) or at
the ‘list owner level’
We update every data field that are collected
and stored in our master data file via SMTP check, DNS Look up, NCOA, Tele
updates etc.
• Depending on
the data source, we use website registration, permission pass, tele campaign
etc. to get Consent before using, selling, renting or licensing the data
• We verify all
the data provided & ensure we got their emails and contact details
verified again by our telemarketing team.
• Social Media
Profiles like LINKEDIN, MYSPACE, TWITTER, FACEBOOK etc. profile updates
are also matched to our existing master Database. We now have over 10.8
million contacts in our master database file with Social Media Links &
personal profiles of Business Executives among the 32+ million master databases.
